It's once again time for the Uniquely Union Festival. The festival has become a traditional fall celebration
enjoyed and supported by Union and our surrounding communities. This event is sponsored by the
Union Civitan Club, dedicated to serving individual and community needs with an emphasis on helping
people with developmental disabilities.
Festivities will be held at the campus of USC-Union and will feature numerous activities and events for
the entire family. The Uniquely Union Festival is a Kansas City Barbeque Society sanctioned State
Championship contest for South Carolina. I would also like to bring to your attention that Teams and
judges come from New York, Florida and as far west as Kansas to participate in this event. The following
festivities will take place:

The Union Civitan Club S.C. State Championship Barbecue Cook Off – Our Cornerstone Event with award-
winning teams from all over the southeast.

The 4th Annual Fireman’s Combat Challenge Competition.

The Uniquely Union Golf Tournament Classic at the River Chase Golf Club will be held on September 10,
2005

A Bottle and Collectibles Show and Sale has been a success and will be featured again with vendors
displaying items for sale or trade.

The YMCA 5K Run, 1 mile Kids Fun Run – The run route will be in Union’s historic downtown area and
YMCA Weight Lifting Competition – For the Strong Man Title

Little Miss and Miss Uniquely Union Pageant

Musical Performances by: Entertainment TBA.

New Events: Backyard BBQ Competition.

Food Vendors – Featuring various foods to delight the appetite.

The Uniquely Union Committee is currently requesting sponsorship from all area businesses to insure a
successful celebration and to promote Union County. This is an excellent way to promote Union County
as well as an effective marketing tool for your company.
